- I've always dabbled in various crafts and hobbies, and only tried painting because my daughter complained about my bare walls every time she visited. I declared I would buy a canvas and paint my own...I figured the worst thing that could happen is that I would smear paint over the monstrosity and call it an abstract. It came out astonishingly good....and I was hooked.
