- Tell us a bit about yourself:
- I wanted to paint my entire life. I took a Watercolor class about 12 years ago because it was the only classs offered that fit into my schedule. It was very frustrating for me and the instructor told me that she felt that I would be happier in oils and offered to give me private lessons. I studied with her in her home studio for several years until illness forced her to leave the area but I will always be extremely grateful to her for what I learned painting at her side. Due to my work schedule as a Nurse and then after retiring from nursing as a Full time Realtor I stopped painting for the last 6 years because I just did not have any time....but now that I am retired I have the time and the desire to get back into it. Painting brings me great joy and I want to learn as much as I can and explore different styles and subject matter in order to improve what I do. I have only painted in oils (except for my brief beginning time in watercolor) but may sometime explore other mediums in addition to oils which are my passion because they allow me to change my mind and start over as often as I like. I look forward to learning a lot by being part of this community and seeing what others are doing.

What a wonderful painting!
Just lovely colors and the highlights in the vase are so good....it reminds me of the oil paintings of one of my favorites Helen Van Wyck - she did wonderful roses.

Beautiful Pocono Mountains
The Pocono Mountain area is home to the Delaware Water Gap which is on the borders of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Delaware River cuts through the Appalachian Mountains and provides plenty of local recreation and also photo opportunities.

ALASKA - Majestic Frontier
As I begin to paint my Alaska Series which will be a collection of my artistic interpretaions of our photos from our cruise to Alaska, I thought it would be a good time to start a blog with some information about the places visited which are the source and inspiration for the paintings. - it is not that large 17x22. I was not happy with the photo it transferred too small the first time so I did it again. It turned out too big!! I may photograph it again and re submit it tomorrow. It is so vibrant and busy sitting here looking at it. take care my friend. Andy
