I'm returning to art after a long lay off

Started drawing free hand as a child and teen , however never kept it up.
Today it is self gradifying to pick it up again.. My grown children where surprised when they first saw them , their comment ( MOM !!! I DIDN'T KNOW YOU CAN DRAW !!!! ) . Makes me happy.

Been reading alot on watercolor, but haven't done any painting for a couple of months. With the nicer weather, I've been busy having fun outside. I'm thinking about taking a watercolor and drawing class next month, just to serve as a kick start.

At 5:14am on November 22, 2008, adam said…: Millie if you have never done CP before, and you have time, go back to the CP site and read all that has been posted, it will give you a rough idea on some of the things that happen with them. I think a few sites are listed where you can get a lot of information on them also. My one suggestion is if you start a work in CP I would start out small, they are not like other mediums, you layer and burnish and layer again, you can mix different colors at the same time, Go look at the post a pic I did a candle, if you notice the little door and bottom of the candle holder that is a mixture of three different colors layered on top of each other. Good luck, ask any questions you like someone will answer over there.

Oh yeah, today in the mail, I recieved a couple of brushes I ordered from Dick Blick: They are both Raphael's. One's a 14 round 8404 series, and a 8 squirrel mop.
I've only had time to do some graded washes and some other experiments. I'm excited. I think they're going to make a big difference. We'll see tomorrow.
