- I am 64 - and have wanted to be an artist my entire life. I took one semester of art in high school, and about 6 months of lessons at the age of 28. Then I let life get in the way. About 5 years ago, I took a workshop with Sue Scheewe, for a week - and a few months of watercolor lessons. A crisis came along, and once again I gave up. In late 2008, I started taking lessons again, determined that this time, I was going to keep at it no matter what, a decision that was greatly challenged by 3 eye surgeries in 2009. Working on my art during the months when I had only one eyed vision was challenging, but OH so therapeutic.
I'm very pleased with the results I've been getting - and enjoyed having the Watercolor Secrets course as an additional resource.

She sure is a cute little critter. I didn't have the right colors (or wasn't successful in blending them), but I do like her anyway. It's done in Derwent Colorsoft pencil on 9 x 12" drawing pad paper.
