Hey Alan, very well done indeed my friend, done a couple of these myself so i know what it takes to produce a convincing portrait from the negative aspect and you've done it three times, 5*s for all three.

This is a lovely portrait Eli, i love her expression, the skin tones are natural looking with a nice reflected light on her forehead and below her right eye, her eyes, and hair are beautifully drawn though i would like to have seen a little more ton…

I've decided to change my profile info as it's a bit out of date now.
In the time i've been on the idap website i've met a great many lovely people (friends) from all over the world and have come to cherish the time spent on the site viewing some of the fabulous art that at times, takes my breath away.
I will always stay on this site (as long as you'll have me) no matter what direction life takes me, it's an experience i would be very reluctant to let go of, as i enjoy my visits to the site so much.

Many thanks Martin. As I have told others,I don't want to give the wrong impression about these studies. They are practice pieces based on photographs . The outlines are drawn with pencil and transferred to card or paper. The outlines are then drawn with a black drawing pen and the background painted out with indian ink.

I understand how you feel, I have been trawling the net trying to find inspiration. I would like to do something a bit different and larger this time, but am at a loss.
Something that you might find interesting is along the lines that Paul (Damaclese) is tackling. Have a look at the engravings by Gustav Dore, I think you could do one, but I am afraid they are beyond me :(

Martin, its been a while since Ive looked at your artwork.......but coming back now, and browsing through them, has totally left me undone. I can only pray that one day I could do a portrait at the fraction of success with which you so masterfully capture your subjects. I am dazzled and floored by them. Excellent, and .....well, just blown away by them. God bless you my friend.

Thanks for your messages Martin!
I know what you mean, there's so many good pieces of art on here, it takes forever to get through all of them! Please keep me updated when you add new artwork!
