Colors to be used while Painting

If your an Acrylic(or Oil) artist like me, buying colors for painting can be a very exciting yet, daunting proposition.
Some one rightly said, "An artist, left alone in an art store, is like a child left unattended in a candy shop!!".

If you feel you are "blocked", sit and think of a story or part of a story that made an impression on you, that you feel you could paint...Snow White, Phantom of the Opera, Indian folk stories, anything..."see" that part of the story that you like and try to work it into a painting. I'm doing that now with....NOT TELLING! But your own literary memory..wow, THAT is a deep concept!....can be a great source of ideas. Good luck! And DONT give up!

Marie, so glad to have you back with us. I have been away a bit myself. I do hope you are feeling better. Painting helped me so much through some of the worst days of my life and I know it can help you. You came back to us for a reason. Painting takes you to another world where you are in control of what happens. You can express your feelings on canvas or paper. Let yourself go, don't give up and something will inspire you. I am not a flower person really but painting them so alive and vibrant makes me feel good. Paint something that makes you feel good. I will be looking for it. Take care my friend.

Hi Kirk, This is a very good portrait. Payne's grey I find very good for black and white subjects, although you do seems to have other colours mixed with it? Quite a bit of red? Well done. Danny
