This is very good Ro. It's easy to see the "S" composition and the steelyard influence (this would have sounded like Greek to me a month ago!) I'll have to go check my notes (or your blog) for the radiating line.

Hi Jimmy. I like the soft pastel look too and also the hint of leaves in the background. Nice detail on the petals and leaves also.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am retired after many years in the computer software business. I've drawn and painted all my life. I've taken a few classes, but am mainly self-taught. Lately I've been painting animals on river rocks. They are fun to do. I also enjoy digital art (using my Wacom tablet), but understand that this is not the place for digital art.

Attention Acrylic Challenge Members

Hello Everybody, Our friend and leader Pat (Newby) is having computer problems and can't access the site and leave comments. Those of you that know Pat know that she is very conscientious and takes her leader duties very seriously. She just wants everybody to carry on without her until she gets her computer back on track. I've assurred her that we will continue participating in the challenge and that we'll miss her and be very happy when she's back.

Shy and Pat both added good challenge materia… Continue

Hi Marguerite
Kyra really is quite the little artist. She draws all the time - and is very good for her age. She does love to get mail. I'm really glad her folks are having her respond to the cards. Thanks again

Hi Marguerite, Firts of all thank you for the lovely comment on my sketch of Dodger. Yes he is a handsome fellow and such a sweet soul... The vet has checked for hyper thyrodism and the tests have coome back inconclusive he is eating and drinking fine and they will recheck hm in a month. So far his weight has not dropped any lower so keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you for that bit of info as helps to know what others have gone through as they get older. We do love our animals. :)

PS --hope your storm is gone and you are digging out. This last storm brought us only a very, very light dusting of snow but it has rained so much that our septic tank is full--I'm praying for a few days of sunlight to let the ground dry out somewhat. Joanne

I saw the watercolor challenge and there were many wonderful paintings there--yours was one of the best. I have painted my oil challenge--waiting for it to dry--loved the Church but I just could not duplicate that sky. I'm out of larger canvases and want one to do that lab for the Acrylic Challenge. It looks like it could have been taken on one of our beaches and I just love that dog. It is beautiful, here by the sea--I actually live across the bridge in the County of Currituck but we are only minutes from the beach and we were so lucky to be able to buy a home on the Albermarle Sound. I'm going to upload a photo I took of a sunset here on the other site. Got to go, I'm working on taxes so I must stay focused today. Take care, Joanne

Hi Cuz, the storm brought us 6 inches of snow, then it rained and took it down to 2 inches before it froze overnight. But this is the south and that was Saturday--today with higher temperatures almost all remnants of snow are gone. That was the 2nd real snow that we have gotten since we moved here 10 years ago. I stayed in and off the roads cause we southerners do not know how to drive on snow and ice. I did go out and play with the dogs in the snow. I love how frisky they get.

I'm not a gambler (in casino's) either. The extent of my gambling is $2 a week on the lottery--I've never won anything bigger than $10, but I sure get some wonderful daydreams of how I would spend that winning lottery, and how I would share it.

I have been to the El Paragua (is that how it's spelled???) and loved the food....course it's been some time since I've been there. It has lots of wonderful atmosphere. Angelina's has good food, too, with a family atmosphere.

I've spent lots of time on the two sites but have managed to finish a pastel challenge and a tug boat painting. I'm working on a painting of a pasture with cows and am having a hard time. My beautician wants a cow painting for her kitchen and I said I'd try, but my heart's just not in it. That's probably why I've been on this computer so much, We''ll see how it works out.

Got to go, Joanne

Hi Marguerite, No didnt get that . The star is supposed to be Jessica Biel. I am doing well regarding my surgery thanks for asking. Only problem is I feel a lot better so am doing more than I should and at night it starts hurting a lot because of that. Otherwise recovery is going well.
Take care,
Kimber

I agree with Turtle. However, remeber that limestone is basically blue/grey; the greens are usually impurities or growths like moss and algae. Although it is deposited in layers, it is eroded by water, so has lots of verticals and wavy strata, both…
