The cat is AWESOME and that stool is AMAZING!!! I have a gray tuxedo long haired cat and he, too, hates having his picture taken. Must be a cat thing!

I didn't see the first one--this one is awesome!!

This makes me smile--that huge horse with the little fella leading him. It looks like the little fella would be better suited to the little horse. Course I don't want to be the one to tell him that.

That water is awesome, and the turtle is beautifully done. Can't wait to see the finished piece.

That background is amazing--I thought you had painted on velvet--the texture is awesome and is such a wonderful backdrop to that beautiful white flower. I love your stem and leaves--the highlights and shadows are very well done.

Few months now, I'm returning to art after a long lay off
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I've always enjoyed drawing, and tried painting a couple times over the years. I recently took acrylic painting lessons and hope to begin to paint more consistently. Although I have drawn since a teenager, I've never had formal schooling--so have a lot to learn. I did take a 4 day acrylic painting class, and have watched lots of Bob Ross over the years. Thankfully there's much more time to paint now that I am retired.

Hi Joanne, thanks for the comment. it is a sad story, but apparently this breed of dog have problems of that kind. It is stress related, so I am told, and you can see that in their faces. Very intense all the time, and there is always one that dominates the others in the group. You can see that in this picture. Keep up the artwork, I like your sence of strong colour (..color..) a stipulation of mine!

Ha ha ha is'nt that just right. We were looking for a certain sort of place mat for the table before Christmas, and no one had anything. Now you go into any shop and there are loads.. Just like buses, you wait for ages and just when you give up , three come along at once. If you get stuck again , you want to look on Wet Canvas site, they have loads of photos of different things.

Hey Joanne, you certainly did a beautiful job on the tug boats. The detail on the boats and the background is great. The eagles and cow and calf are excellent also. My wife was really impressed with your paintings. Look forward to seeing your progress on the portrait. Wishing you and yours all the best. Your friend Sonny

Good call. I agree too many threats for them outside. When I was a kid we had a cat that would disappear for about 2 weeks at a time , A beautiful long haired Calico named Luvbug and she would come back pregnant. Called her the kitty factory... :) Every 6 months a new batch of kittens.... Of course my pets are spayed or neutered so no babies....
