- Tell us a bit about yourself:
- I was in banking for 30 years and at the age of 40 redecorated my kitchen and did some painting with house paints on the cupboard doors and on a frying pan for the wall and things just developed from there. I resigned in 1998 and opened a Bed and Breakfast hoping to be able to concentrate on art as well but boy was I wrong it has got so busy, but now 10 years down the line I have something missing in my life and it is my ability to express myself and I am passionate about getting back into painting and crafts
This was, my first ever, oil painting, done on board, it is the coloured version of the sketch pad rural scene where my Senior Housekeep live.

You must be extremely busy running both businesses but don't run yourself into a breakdown.
I agree with David about selling your business.

- Hi Jill. Yes it is a long time. Thanks for your kind comments on my pic. My arm is a lot better except overnight it stiffens and I have to exercise it a lot in the morning. (very painful). Still it will improve over the next few months hopefully.

I had several photos taken at different times of the day and from different angles, and finally chose to make a composition out of two photos. They were pretty dark, so I added the highlights. When you look at the picture up close, it is full of splotches and looks nothing like a photo!! I'm so glad you all liked it and gave me the thumbs up!! :-)

I'm impressed by your pictures - I do like the one of the zebras and that first oil painting has worked a treat. It's got tremendous depth in it with the blue-grey mountains in the background. And No 4 really gives an impression of stormy waters off the coast.
