A must see Movie

I would have to say that the language was a little less then desirable. Thanks for the girl with the pearl earring suggestion I have added it to my list to be sent.

I have no real ideas but a question of my own.... could she not be able to get the same focal effect with color? If she changed the color of the house so that it would stand out, would that not draw…

I just love the way you make the paint do the work...lol I look closely at your work and I see how the brush stroke ads depth but when I see it on my own work I see mistakes. It must be the paint I'm using it must be lazy paint making me do all the…

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am a mother of 3 boys and have one grandson who of course is perfect! I have never really taken the time to paint or draw for myself. Throughout the years I have done art projects with the boys, mostly holiday projects. My ex husband was the artiest in the family so he did all the murals on the boys walls ect. Now with the passing of my father I find there are things I wish to do for myself.

Boats, Boats and more Boats

Learning to draw is not hard..... Learning to draw keeping perspective....well that is a whole-other ball game all together. I am finding it frustratingly amazing how a single line or adding shading can completely throw it all out of whack.

Take the furthest boat out, I am still yelling at that dang thing but it just won't listen!
There must be some big fat guy hiding in the back that I can't see causing the front end to lift out of the water. I swear if I catch him he's going to get an ear ful… Continue

Hey Jeanne - I guess it does look pretty spooky right now . . . but it doesn't scare me anymore, because I know how much depth that phthalo blue, and the greens and purples to come, will add to the painting. Sure am glad you are enjoying my posts.

HI Jeanne - thanks for your interest! As to the color . . . I am basically feeling my way . . . adding in one color at a time. I really pull all of it out of the photo, though some of it is exaggerated. I'm really excited about this one, because I love the expression on my granddaughter's face.

Frustrating isn't it? I have done that myself, used ref photos that don't really fit together and even with planning I still forget that other elements should change. I still try to mix photos together and even with Steves advice still get it wrong, but I will keep trying. Mike Sibley does the same but somehow puts it all together using Adobe photoshop. Oh I wish I was computer literate!
Regarding the water, you might find this link useful, I did. You may have seen it before

Hi Jeanne, thanks for the comment on my work, I am glad you like it.
I just read your blog on your boat pic and was wondering if you are still working on it?
Steve is a great help isn't he? I read his suggestions to you and yes they all make sense, but I must admit I would not have thought about what you can see of the interior of the boats either, so like you I am still learning to look at things properly and try to remember things that we all take for granted. Good luck with it
