Detail is good. Just take your time, keep stepping back to look and assess what you've completed and decide what what else you want to put in. Don't rush anything, it's not a race it's enjoyment.

- I'm retired from University teaching. I have three children and three grandchildren. Took up painting early fall '07 year and even though I have some things that are frustrating me no end, I really enjoy creating something from nothing.

Boy have things changed
Well, we went from having cold rainy days to heat in the matter of a week or so. What strange weather from our typical seasons. Wouldn't mind going back to Alaska to see how it's been affected by this winter's weather.

Bummer
Boy what a last couple of weeks. People I know are dying every week or so plus I was asked to help out a funeral for someone who didn't have a lot of friends or family around. Then found out my brother-in-law has been diagnosed with a fairly aggressive cancer. Now a friend at church has to have a quick turnaround surgery for heart blockage. So can't get up much interest in painting right now. May the tide turn sooner than later.

We had snow! This is a once in a decade thing for Birmingham, Alabama so I thought y'all might want to see what we get excited about in the winter of a decade. They'll probably close the schools tomorrow even if it's all gone by sunset.
