Now that you've said that, I do remember that you have trouble getting materials. That makes this that much more interesting to me because I know the quality of what you use makes a difference. I can't wait to see what you do with the other pencil...

O.K. now, Rachna. I think you know by now that I want to know what brand of pencils and what brand and weight of paper you used. When I see something I like, I want to know how you got that look. I'm also enjoying this as a WIP.

YES, Rachna! I thought the first one was pretty good but you really added so much in the second one. There's so much definition there. You've put so much to use from just one lesson. That's what it's all about. Thanks for letting us see it.

My father was an artist and I learned technique from him when I was very small. I've always drawn but never had a lot of time for it when I was working and raising kids. I'm now retired. I have time for the things I like to do best, including portraits.

WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING

A FRIEND GAVE ME THESE LITTLE DANCING GIRLS AND I LOVE THEM. NO MATTER WHAT MUSIC IS PLAYING, THEY SEEM IN TIME WITH IT. THEY JUST HALF-TIME OR DOUBLE-TIME IT AND NEVER GET TIRED. WONDER WHAT KIND OF VITAMINS THEY TAKE. ;-)

I find that chamois leather is much more effective for fine blending than just about anything else i've tried, the hatching strokes seem to just disappear unlike when i use tissue paper!!!, that seems to take forever by comparison lol.
