- Hi I was a member some time back but have been ill for quite some time, anyway i am fit and well now so here i am . I have been painting for about 16 years now and still learning. From 1998 to 2002 i painted watercolours and some oils for a gallery in Yorkshire and the quickest painting to be sold their was in the window for only 6 minutes , but it only happened to that one. I am self taught watercolour artist and i also now teach raw beginners in watercolour landscape painting,and I have recently taken part in watecolour demonstrations. I am a member of the Brighouse Art Circle Yorkshire . My favorite medium is watercolours but i also paint in acrylics and oils, but nowadays it is nearly always acrylics.
Update:
I am very pleased to say that i have been accepted into the Guild of Waterways Artist.

The making of River Wharf Lower Strid Woods
Acrylic painting of the river wharf in lower strid woods near Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire . It is not actually step by step but it shows from the under painting in stages to the finished painting, i only used acrylic paints with no other mediums .

Water in Watercolour
Hi, I have been asked a few times how do i paint water in watercolour,so , the best way i have come up with is to show you here.
The first thing is to dampen the paper where you want your water to be, as above.
