Tell us a bit about yourself:
Hi I was a member some time back but have been ill for quite some time, anyway i am fit and well now so here i am . I have been painting for about 16 years now and still learning. From 1998 to 2002 i painted watercolours and some oils for a gallery in Yorkshire and the quickest painting to be sold their was in the window for only 6 minutes , but it only happened to that one. I am self taught and was a member of the Baildon art Club in Baildon Yorkshire but sadly had to stop attending due to working away at the time. My favorite medium is watercolours but i also paint in acrylics and oils, but nowadays it is nearly always watercolours

Pastels are hard and I am pretty bad so far, but I'm going to give it a try for a bit longer. Thank you for the encouragement to continue. You may have felt that you didn't do well in pastels but the rest of your work in acrylics is just gorgeous!!! Who needs pastels with work like that! Joanne

Hi Colin, apologies for the delay in replying but many thanks for your kind comments on my recent landscape experiments. I did these using my new pastel sharpening tool which is still in development. I still have a little way to go yet with my experiments but so far it has worked pretty much as predicted and has proved to be a huge time saver as well making difficult detailed areas very easy. I will post some more in a week or so when I have some more free time.
Best wishes
Gary

Hi Colin, the boat was done in Oils, though I started it in Acrylics and the water wouldn't blend right so I just painted over the whole thing boat and all! Thanks for the comments It was a lesson picture and I have to take it to be critiqued on Wed. Good to hear from you - Lynne
