I am a mature aged art student just having a go at something that I have always wanted to try. I have five grown up children and five grandchildren.I am studying Fine Arts at Curtin University in Western Australia and am throughly enjoying the whole experience. I am getting a real buzz out of learning about art and artists and hope to continue the journey here with you folks.
I have never tried to do buildings so I am not one to listen to....but.....I think you have done a really good job....doesnt look like it is falling down any time soon
Today, is the first I have seen your work and I am in total awe!!! Perfect and so very beautiful!!! The drool is precious and so real. Wonderful eyes!!!
Hi Charlee you are welcome and I just wanted to say that Martin is certainly an inspiration I have had the pleasure of chatting to him and the advice he gave me was wonderful. take care Janet x
Thanks Charlee, thought maybe I should not have mentioned that, but I do not think that is right, I love this site and we are all here to learn, and I know ,I personally, have been told a few things that have really improved my art, and would never have seen on my own. We should say what we think, the artist is then free to take it, or leave it. I personally hope people do that to my work as well. It is lovely to have glowing comments, but it does not help us advance as artists either. I was surprised no one else spotted that.
Regards Maylon

Photos are very good for references but go to the live anything. It is challenging at all turns and at times mind boggling because you will be forced to think things through. Go back to the old masters and see the difference.
I agree with Turtle. However, remeber that limestone is basically blue/grey; the greens are usually impurities or growths like moss and algae. Although it is deposited in layers, it is eroded by water, so has lots of verticals and wavy strata, both…
