What the heck is this?

Oh and p.s. one more question there was this gooey silly putty kinda grey looks like an eraser thingy in there too? any ideas...it doesn't erase?

ok I was given a box of all kind of drawing pencils, charcoal, etc., etc. I drew my last picture with this odd pencil (i think) ... anyway it doesn't erase, kinda flows and feels like a crayon, b...

Excellent for a 1st attempt you could of fooled me.... looks like you have been doing this all the while. I can only see one small thing to critique which is the hair....however, I could not tell you how to give it more detail...job well done

Great job .......... one of my favorite books is Zoltan Szabos 70 water color techniques ...which is excellent but out of print and when you CAN find a copy it is very expensive. Your randition is great love it.

This presents a lovely mix of pleasant tones, so, whtever it is you're reading - keep it up. Look like a patchwork quilt my mother-in-law used to have! Could do with a little more accuracy in the leaves if you are going for the impressionistic loo...

Thanks Claudia for your comments on my Smile. I really appreciate it. Yes, may be I have to darken the hair on the right side, which is away from the light source.I don't do much pencil drawing, except as a guide for my water colours.

me again i forgot to tell you the whiye you mention is the reflected flash when i took the photo the reason i put the 2nd photo up it the 1st one had the flash reflection g of teh horse so the colours did not show through they are both the same picture just slightly different agnles that is all hope this helps you understand the white light is not ther in reality thanks anne

hi Claudia thanks for the comment on my horses head just to let you know this is the 1st rough draft to get the head on to the canvas and as such is only it out line of what it is going to be the rest will be built up as i go along the horse mane will be black and it only shows a little at teht op of the neck and his forlock too i have to ge tthe colours lighter for his nose and other colours to show his head neck muscels etc as for his left nostral it only shows very slightly and as yet i have not defind that as i said this is like doing a scetch before building it up to a full picture theres a lot to do yet I have had a hose until 3 weeks ago i sent my home bred mare to a sanctuary so i have now no horses due to unforseen surcumstances but have had horses in my life since being 1st sat on a donkey at 6mths of age i had a riding scool trained horses for many years and competed at county level for a number of years too in eventing jumping a dressage so i have a good understanding of the horse that is why i took over the horse lovers group it has been many year since i painted more so in oils and i only have a limited amount of paints to work with as i gave all my stuff away over 16 yrs ago after not using them for over 20yrs i now have to build up my oils and other mediums not easy when you have not got a full tiem job and are trying to keep a home going too so i just have to do the best i can with the paints i have so the painting will i hope work out fine in the end i will try to get it as near to the original colour that i can too this phot can be seen in the september gorse lovers group challange it is a picture of my ex pacer come eventer whom i had to have put to sleep 4 yrs ago now we had a great bond i saved him from beinf starved to death but that is a whole new story thansk for the feedback it is always appreciated take care Anne
