I tried to convert this to a winter scene.... was looking out my window
at snow, so I added it to the picture.

This is lovely Nancy, we have a variety of magnolia that grows in Colorado. There's one not too far from our house. The only trouble is that we seldom get to enjoy the blossoms. It blooms to early in the spring and the frost destroys the flowers alm…

- We are both retired, have been enjoying acrylics for several years. We've taken classes in drawing (pencil and charcoal) but are going to try out semi-hard pastels. We're not professional, by any stretch of the imagination, but we've sold a few paintings. Our styles are different. One of us is a realist, the other tends toward impressionism.

- You are welcome, happy to be of assistance. Thank you for your kind comments on my artwork. Your first pastel drawing is very nice as are your acrylics. As you can see, all traditional mediums are welcome here (just not digital artwork -- which is something I also enjoy, but I play by the rules!) The weather in CO is cold and it started way too early (they're blaming El Nino I believe). We got our first big snow in October and it's been downhill from there (lots of arctic air has drifted down and doesn't want to leave). I wish I were heading south! I'm really tempted to go visit my sister in Melbourne, Florida for a while, but can't convince my husband that we should do that. Yes, pastels are much easier to pack than other mediums (well, graphite is pretty easy also) Pencils don't take up much space :-).
Didn't I see a horse in your gallery? I was going to go back and comment on him, but he seems to have run off!
