Hi girlfriend. Thank you for your kind comments on my newest painting, Sunlight and Shadows on the Canyon Walls. I have only mentioned 2 of the compositions on the blog so far. I will update it asap with a overview of all the different ones. Check composition blog in a few days. Ro

Hello Bea and thanks for your reply and encouragement. How I wish you were right about me and watercolours. I am simply hopeless as I just seem to treat them like oils and can't get the hang of it. I tried one yesterday, pretty well a disaster. But I will persevere, at least until my watercolour materials run out LOL!

Hey Bix thank you for your comment on mercury rising. I do appreciate them so much. Take care! I use what ever gives me an effect mostly acrylic, however, I saw a tip from Jerry Yarnell about using thick gesso instead of titanium white you get better blending like oil. I thought it worked well!!!!

Thanks also for the comment on A place to unwind.
Once finished they go in a drawer, probably never to be seen again. I keep meaning to put them in mounts, but always in a rush to start the next one, so never seem to have the time.

Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am Bix and I have recently discovered Idrawandpaint and love it. I now live in France having lived in Brighton, UK for over 20 years and am enjoying everything french, all of which I want to paint. We have taken on a project of renovating a 12th Century monastery and have just published our first ads in the Leisure Painter and The Artist holiday supplement Feb 10 and have just opened the house up for art holidays and already taking bookings. Have learnt soooo much since joining in Sept 09 and plant to learn as much as I can.
