Tell us a bit about yourself:
My husband and I came to live in France in 2005 with our 2 dogs. This was an ideal opportunity to try something different so I started art classes in 2006. I was very fortunate to have a wonderfully inspiring teacher. Unfortunately he left after a year but he changed my life. He taught me to paint with acrylics and we dabbled a little with watercolours. Then I found a watercolourist in our village who gave me lessons. I love this medium but it's a constant challenge for me. Now I'm going to try my hand at oil painting. This I think will be another challenge but 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'.
Love the Impressionists.

He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist."

I like it a lot too...and decorated a beauty salon in that theme once...were do you find the inspiration for that kind of work. I would not mind trying it at some point. Sometimes you have to get out of your norm....thanks again, Victoria

Hi Audrey, the paper I usually use for the watercolours is Langton acid free, 140lb. However I went to a talk locally ( Loose Valley Ladies!),last night to see some wonderful pictures, ink, pastels, oils and watercolours and several had been done on blue paper. The effec for night time paintings was just spectacular, so I shall definately bear this in mind if I choose such a subject. What paper do you use? I must experiment more. Claire
