Thanks Michael, red is a hard color sometimes, but the more I use it the more I like it. Have a great day. Angie

Hi Angie, awesome work. Great use of red. The truck is so well done. Take care, Michael.

Thanks Tony, It was fun to paint, and all the red had me a little worried at first, because I had never worked with so much red before. It turned out to be a good lesson. Thanks again and have a great day. Angie

Thanks Diana, this was a challenge but the old man I painted it for was real happy with it, and that is what I was hoping for. He likes to enter his old truck in contests, but never really had a picture like this. Thanks for the compliment. Angie

What's your favorite media?
I have painted with acrylics for years, but for the last 4 months I have taken a liking to watercolor
How long have you been drawing or painting?
More than 3 years
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I have been a hobbiest for years, starting out with ceramics, then I started tole painting and enjoyed that style for years. I found myself getting really busy making Christmas gifts, then would put my paints away for the summer months and get them out again in October and make presents for family and friends. I was introduced to colored pencils about a year ago, took a class and found I was hooked. I love that medium and I think it came so easy to me because as a child I spent hours with the color box.
Working with pencils made me realize for years I have said someday I want to learn to paint with watercolors, and I decided there was no better time than now, I am hooked, I don't think a day has gone by since I picked up my brush that I don't try to spend some time during the day working on a piece.

Thank you for your wonderful comments on my paintings. My paintings are oil, acrylic and watercolor. The Iris paintings are watercolor. I usually try to note what medium they are, but sometimes I forget. I've been painting WC a lot lately.

Hi Socross,
Birds are a great challenge, and I am working on painting some quail. They have beautiful feathers, and I only hope I can do them justice. Last weekend we tried to find some eagles to catch some good shots of, but they stayed to far away, so I will just have to keep trying.
Hope your having a great weekend, the weather is staying in the 40's so it is tolerable outside.
Thanks for all you nice compliments on my work, I sure you feel as I do, in that we are trying to get our hands to be able to paint what our eyes can see, and just a little more.

Thanks for the kind words Angie! You have a great skill. Love those birds...as a matter of fact just came in from trying to photo a red-tail hawk that lives in our woods. He had just made a kill, but too keen for me and scooted away. He was waiting for me to leave. Another time. But I love the birds also and you have done a great job with them. Such depth to those beautiful sunflowers as well. Thanks again.
