NEW GROUP MEMBERS, PLEASE READ CAREFULLY...

The Watercolour Secrets group is for owners of Watercolour Secrets to share their watercolour paintings and to discuss the lessons in the course (or anything else relating to watercolour painting).

The group is not private and is open to other members on idrawandpaint, however posts and comments must be related to either watercolour painting or the course lessons.

1. USE THE FORUM FOR...
Please use this group's discussion forum (as opposed to the comment wall) for sharing your watercolour paintings. Simply start a new discussion and add your picture to your discussion by clicking the little picture button

You can also use the forum to ask about specific watercolour painting techniques, equipment or anything watercolour-related.

2. USE THE COMMENT WALL FOR...
The comment wall is best reserved for introductions or just to say hi. You could also use it to ask a quick question but you are less likely to receive a helpful answer compared to starting a new forum discussion.

It's best NOT to add your pictures to the comment wall because the comment wall quickly gets filled with messages and not all will relate to your work.

3. HAVE A SUPPORT QUESTION?
Please do NOT ask support questions about the course here - our support team does not monitor this forum. If you have a support question about the DVD course please use our contact form and we'll get back to you asap.

Christopher... wow!  I think you have done a great job for your first attempt.  The light in the sky looks so natural... and the same bright color as the light dancing on the water.  Bravo! :)

Hi, Sybil!  I've just seen your Lake Garda.  Bravo on your first attempt... and on getting back to painting after a year!!  Your forms look good in the painting.  My only suggestion would be that you might try for a greater range of light and dark.  The lights could be much lighter.. and the darks could be even darker... with lots of variety of tone in between.  With the shades being so close, it looks like Lake Garda on a somber or overcast day... Best wishes as you continue!! :)

Great first attempt, Chistopher!  You and your wife will have so much fun doing this together!  Enjoy!

Well, I've been lurking quite some time now after purchasing Bob's DVD, and I have finally had the time to paint the first monochrome lesson of Lake Garda. I'm quite new to watercolour, but my wife and I have decided to do something artsy together, so we're giving it a go. We've attended a couple workshops giving us a bit of a chance to "learn" the medium. I'm really enjoying Bob's instruction thus far. So, without further ado, here it is... Thoughts?

I have finally got up the courage to paint Lake Garda.  I know it needs more work on it.  I would appreciate any feedback.  Thank you.

My first attempt at Lake Garda (any painting in over a year!

Re-watching the DVDs after about a month of painting my own pictures is really worthwhile.  Now I can see all the things that I'm doing wrong!

"I just finished my Yorkie. She sure is a cute little critter. I didn't have the right colors (or wasn't successful in blending them), but I do like her anyway. It's done in Derwent Colorsoft pencil on 9 x 12" drawing pad paper. "
