Fabulous! Thanks Tom
Lovely photos Tom, very tempting. I might just have to have a go at one of them in pastels. Many thanks for sharing. Lina.
Wow, these are gorgeous pictures Tom. Thank you. Joanne
Here's my Mallard Drake. I like this better than past attempts--or at least the head---the body is not so good. Oh well, at least there's a portion that's reasonable. I'm learning. Joanne

Well, I like it Joanne. Looks like he's pretty full of himself -- a handsome speciman indeed. I'll have to try and give this one a go (too bad this month's challenge wasn't cows, huh?)

Indeed this challenge is just ducky! Great photos Tom. I hope to be able to participate this month. Thanks, Marguerite
Thanks for the kind words, Marguerite. I got a real belly laugh with the idea of the cows....yeah, I do need some inspiration. Joanne

Joanne: You've done a really nice job on this, expecially his head. Lulu
Here is mine. I've spent a long time at this one. I hope you like it.

Hi Joanne, what a handsome bird, your water is very believable, and your drake is just the business, I love the way you have done the ruff of feathers on the neck and the head is just lovely with those colours in, I think you have the body just right any more and it would not look so good, your painting'drawings are getting better every time I see them well done Pat

Hi Lulu, I love your birds the planking is bright with the sunshine slanting across it and the shadows of the birds are very good, love the hen bird with realistic coloured feathers, and the drake is so striking with his colours shining in the sun your water is good and choppy looking well done Pat

Thank you, Pat, for the encouraging words. I do feel better about this one. Glad to see you back. Joanne

Lulu, your painting is a stunner! The water looks sunlit with lots of movement--that drake is awesome from his sunlit head to his back and those webbed feet!! The female is drab--but that's the way she is in life, she has to be to hide and protect her young. The deck planking is awesome--even with those tiny nails......and you even have the gravel. Awesome job!!

Joanne

"I just finished my Yorkie. She sure is a cute little critter. I didn't have the right colors (or wasn't successful in blending them), but I do like her anyway. It's done in Derwent Colorsoft pencil on 9 x 12" drawing pad paper. "
