What we do and how we do it.

Welcome to our little forum.

Here we are attempting to share our experience with different products out on the market for artists. We are not about oils, acrylics, pastels nor pencil but about all things art.

We have been also sharing tips and tricks of the trade with one another. There are ongoing how to discussions and new questions being prompted all the time like "How do I do this?" "Has anybody tried this kind of brush?" or "I had a bad experience with such and such brand of......."

Please feel free to jump in the pool with us as "knowledge is power" and "buyer beware" are all to familiar statements to not do a little research in the wealth of experience that lie within these electronic halls.

To start a new discussion just click on the green + sign at the bottom left of the Discussion Forum box.

To reply to a discussion just click continue on that topic and you will be presented not only with the rest of the discussion but you will have a box where you can chime in.

If you like just add a hello or whatever to the comments wall on this main page. The main thing is have fun learn and enjoy sharing the wealth of knowledge and experience we have in our group. Who knows may save you some money on not buying that gadget that you think will re-invent the wheel. Or you may just find a trick that makes your piece of art complete.

Keep your brushes wet and you pencils sharp.

Has anyone tried baby oil to clean their brushes after oil painting. I use this instead of thinner. It is soft on your hands and you don't have the smell of the thinners. I find I still have to give my brushes a final cleaning with the soaps but for use when I',m painting it works great.

just a piece of advice for those who can't photography their paintings in a good way
first you take them out in daylight you hang them or place them on something but they must be straight ,not leaning on the wall or just a little you take your camera and you get the nearest possible to the painting until you see all the painting in your camera then you take your photo ,I usually take more than one and then I choose the best
make sure your eyes and the painting must be at the same level
good luck
I hope that what I said is clear

Smooth watercolour paper is called Hot Pressed (HP) paper and most art suppliers stock it, you want something in the region of 300gsm so that it wont wrinkle, well not too much anyway.
Great for drawing on, superb for paint

Can anyone tell me what Mop brushes are used for? I bought two large and small and had a terrible experience with them.

Kudoos to Winsor & Newton paints. Had very good experience with them. They cost a little more then others but well worth it.
