This is a 12x12 oil painting on stretched canvas (shrimp boats).I would like some honest feed back, please. I painted this piece very quickly, compaired to what I normally paint. Since I painted this a few weeks ago my style has changed and I am concerned. I feel like I'm lost in translation/transistion at the moment.

Permalink Reply by Arno on February 2, 2012 at 2:55am I really like your painting. They look like shrimp boats to me. The sky, the water, the boats and background all look great. I am curious about all the reddish dobs of paint on the large boat.

Permalink Reply by Arno on February 2, 2012 at 4:54am I was going to ask if those were rust spots. I wonder if it is the color of the rust.

Permalink Reply by w J Shelley on February 2, 2012 at 2:30pm I think your right... I think I should have warmed it up just a touch, maybe a little more burnt sienna or orange. Thanks a bunch. I will paint it better next time. I always look forward to your comments!

Permalink Reply by Julia Powell on March 5, 2012 at 6:20pm I like you picture very much. I agree with Arno. The colour could be a little more rusty. Nothing you can't remedy.
