Does my painting have atmosphere. Or should I have tried to abstract the landscape more. Comments please

my main concern is the shadows of the sledders, they are at different angles, shadows would be the same angle for most everything. depending on where the sun is coming from.
Permalink Reply by Susan North on March 6, 2012 at 9:08am Yes I agree, but on showing to my son in NZ who seemed to recognise the scene from when he was little said don't change it, so I won't but may try to paint another one. But I think I won't get the spontaneous effect on this first effort. Thanks for the feedback. Sometimes there is more to a painting than we think, an emotional response that is unexpected.
