Thank you for the advice...agree with you about getting the contrasts right and I do need to work on that

very nicely done. my only comment is that if you darken the value of the near boats and dock and let it lighten as you go further back you will add much more depth to your painting.  it is the contrasts between light and dark, old and new, etc that make the painting.

the values for the near boat in steve's picture would be a good starting point.
